I heard the story about that Art Basel show with the “banana art” that sold right there for $120,000.

I don’t know the artist personally, so I don’t know his intentions either – in the news they can write whatever they want.

Maybe he wanted to express that art is dead. Maybe he killed art that night. In that case, however, the other artist who ate the banana as an art performance gave it rebirth.

One thing is still certain about this (in)famous artistic act. It drew attention to modern art. I’m no one to judge his work but that attention was so badly needed that we can only talk about him in superlatives.

And I felt that it was a must to pay tribute to his story. So “Fading values” was born with that banana sticker trying to hold together the cracked surface of the memory of a forgotten era.
